Josh Golden Professional Bio

Josh Golden is currently the CMO of Quad. His responsibility is to evolve Quad’s go-to-market strategy to deliver on the key benefits of a true through-the-line solution for current and future clients.

Previously, Josh was the President & Publisher of Ad Age. During his tenure, he architected the rejuvenation of the revered media brand, built a highly collaborative team, drove the publication’s digital transformation, and created key new lines of business within both editorial and business side products. Among his highlights are Ad Age’s most prestigious and profitable offerings, including the coveted A-List & Creativity Awards, the flagship events series Ad Age Next and Ad Age Inside Pages, The List in partnership with Facebook, “In the Hot Seal” a custom interview series featuring today’s headline-making thought leaders, and “Eureka!” a live conversation series with founders and innovators from any industry. Golden also drove the development of user-centric eCommerce platforms like Ad Age Amp and Ad Age Datacenter. These strategic additions worked to expand the brand’s visibility and growth. It also and drove deeper industry insights and associations with Fortune 500 brand CMOs, agency groundbreakers, and major technology platforms leaders.

In his role, Golden has become one of the most connected connectors in the marketing ecosystem and its adjacent markets, geographies, and platform companies. These deep relationships build on almost 30 years in marketing, communications, broadcast, and agency work, through which he has built a meaningful network based on the creation of value and understanding the importance of personal bonds.

Prior to joining Ad Age, Golden served as Vice President, Global Digital Marketing at Xerox. There he led a global team, overseeing the website, social platforms, eCommerce, content publishing, and film production. Golden was a key partner in relaunching the company’s marketing efforts and reimagining Xerox’s multichannel marketing efforts, creating an award-winning, content-driven digital experience.

Before Xerox, his 15-year agency-side career consisted of key leadership positions such as Chief Digital Officer at Grey New York, Managing Director, Digital at Euro RSCG, and Interactive Strategist at Y&R New York. In these roles, Golden was tasked with helping these agencies capitalize on crucial growth opportunities and evolving best practices, serving as the key digital evangelist to drive formative change. He also served as the Group Director, Digital Marketing at NBCUniversal where he led the digital marketing transition of the entire NBCU network and cable experiences.

Golden’s early history is in the film and television space. He worked for the prosecution teams on two of the most sensational trials of the last century: People v. O.J. Simpson and People v. Menendez. In each case, he was solely responsible for the concept development and production of hundreds of video and photo assets that were used in the courtroom.

He received his MBA from New York University and his B.S. in Communications from Ithaca College. He lives in Westchester with his wife and two children.
